LuckyAce Poker is probably not a familiar name for many online poker players, but that shouldn't diminish the appeal of this little-known room that offers a good amalgam of game selection, soft opponents and the overall credibility that comes from being backed by one of the gaming industry's largest companies.  We'll cover that aspect of LuckyAce and several others in this review of the LuckyAce online poker room.

LuckyAce Poker: What Types of Games Are Offered?

The dominant game at LuckyAce Poker is No Limit Hold'em.  That is certainly the case at just about all online poker rooms, but to an especially large degree at LuckyAce, where north of 90% of all games played are NLHE.  The room also offers Pot Limit Omaha, which takes up effectively all of the action left available by NLHE.  7 Card Stud (Hi and Hi / Lo variants) is also supported by the software, but games are rare except at peak traffic hours.

Cash game players can expect to find limits ranging from the very, very low to the way, way high.  You can play for pennies or fortunes at LuckyAce, or try your hand at any of the limits in between those two poles.  The heart of the cash game lobby at LuckyAce are the micro-stakes and low-stakes games, where around 80% of the site's traffic can be found at any given point in time.  When you talk tournaments at LuckyAce Poker, you're also talking NLHE - it's the dominant game for both SNGs and MTTs, although you will find greater game variety for both at peak times or during special tournament events.  Pot Limit Omaha options round out the game menu for tournament players at LuckyAce, and the average buy in for all tournaments is somewhere in the range of $20.

LuckyAce does not currently feature a fast-fold option for cash or tournament play (such as PokerStars' Zoom Poker).

Finding Beatable Opponents at LuckyAce Poker
You're in luck (pardon the terrible pun)  with this room for one simple reason:  LuckyAce sits on the 888 Poker Network, meaning LuckyAce shares the same massive traffic base that you'd find on 888 Poker or the real-money room at WSOP.com.  That player base certainly has plenty of tough spots, especially as you start to increase the stakes involved, but it also has more than its fair share of weak spots thanks to the massive global reach of the 888 brand.

LuckyAce Poker: Device and OS Compatibility

Less-than-stellar grades when it comes to compatibility.  Despite sharing the same core software that powers the 888 Poker room, LuckyAce does not offer the same range of compatibility with various operating systems that users of other online poker rooms might enjoy.  The room offers a desktop client for PC users, but no native Mac poker option, no instant play option and no (as of yet) mobile option.  The software that is offered is obviously stable and of high quality, but there are going to be some users shut out of the LuckyAce poker room due to the unfortunately long list of compatibility issues.
